An acoustic guitar lesson on how to play XO by John Mayer.
This is a cover version of the Beyoncé tune. A rare example of a cover being better than the original. Some really beautiful chords and some great strumming. A good tune for beginners as the chords are not that tough and the strumming is pretty basic too. A lot of people have seen and heard the live version of this tune, but on the studio version the guitar part is quite a bit different. This tutorial as stated in the title, is the studio version. This chorus is based on the age old one-six-four-five chord progression. It always blows me away at how many songs have used that progression. It was the basis of a ton of songs in the fifties, as well as the sixties, seventies and eighties and in 2014 it's as popular as ever. I hope that you get something from the video. Cheers Andy |
