What Child Is This | acoustic

Picture
An acoustic guitar lesson on how to play “What Child Is This”. The lyric was written way back in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix. In 1871 it was set to the tune of Greensleeves, a traditional folk song from 1580.

This is my own arrangement.  It's such a beautiful piece of music it really doesn't call for much embellishment, so this is a fairly straight forward arrangement. I played the first verse really simply and embellished the second verse and chorus to give it some variety and have it open up a little and then played the last verse simply again.

I used the same reverb as I did on We Three Kings. It's a part of a plugin called Valhalla Room. The one I used is
modeled after the cathedral at the Abbey Church of Fossanova,  a Cistercian monastery in Italy which dates back to 1163.

It adds a ton of depth to the sound.

I really enjoy working on my Christmas arrangements so I hope that you enjoy this one and that it helps you to learn how to play this beautiful Christmas song.

Merry Christmas everyone! Cheers
Andy
