The First Noel | acoustic

An acoustic guitar lesson on how to play "The First Noel". It was first published back in 1823.

I was in the middle of working on a completely different acoustic song that's in open D. I started thinking about Christmas music, and this one just sort of happened!

It's crazy arranging music in open tunings. It makes you feel like a beginner again because nothing makes any sense! I kind of like that feeling though because you start finding new things and tend to think less and just find notes that work. Apart from that, open tunings just sound so beautiful!

Again, with this arrangement I tried to get lots of ringing strings, I really love the way that sounds.

There's a couple of bits that are tricky but over all if you've been playing a while you should be able to make sense of it fairly quickly.

I really enjoyed putting this one together and I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out.

I hope that you're are able to get something from the video and that you enjoy playing this arrangement. Merry Christmas everyone!
Andy
