She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult | rhythm and solo

An electric guitar lesson on how to play “She Sells Sanctuary” by The Cult.

This has always been one of my favorite rock tunes. It rocks but is extremely melodic at the same time.

Many guitar players think music has to be complex to be great, but to me great is great, whether it’s complex or simple just doesn’t matter and I consider this to be one of the great rock songs of the eighties…

It’s Billy Duffy playing guitar on this. He has a unique style kind of similar to The Edge.

The coolest thing about this guitar part is that it’s played almost entirely on the D and G strings, and you could play 90% of it with just one finger!

It’s also very melodic. They say if you can sing the part then you’re doing something right and these parts are a testament to that.

I had a lot of fun making the demo for this song.  I hope you enjoy the videos. Cheers
Andy
