Push by Dio (Doug Aldrich) | solo
An electric guitar lesson on how to play the solo from "Push" played by Doug Aldrich when he was with Dio.
This is a fantastic blues based solo that really showcases Doug's great "feel" as well as his speed and accuracy. Doug is a great rock guitarists who can play pentatonic stuff at blazing speed but also has a great vibrato and feel. He was very influenced by Jimmy Page and later on Randy Rhoads. You can clearly hear both of those influences in his playing. He wound up in Whitesnake after he left Dio and played with them until 2013. He currently plays with the Dead Daisies. I had a great time working out this solo. It's really fun to play but some of the licks are tough! I hope you enjoy the video. Cheers Andy |
