Fragile by Sting - acoustic

An acoustic guitar lesson on how to play "Fragile" by Sting, from his album 1987 album, Nothing Like the Sun.

Fragile is a great song and Sting is one of the finest musicians of our time. He's a great bass player and singer, but his songwriting is also pretty amazing. This tune show that he's also a very good guitar player.

I've had a lot of requests for it over the years. It's got that real Latin vibe and feel and is played using 6ths on the D and B strings with a few bass notes added along the way.

My demo is mostly from the album version with a couple of ideas from this live version Sting made this year (2021). Mine is just guitar and percussion, no bass or keys so the intro and ending are a little more abrupt. I actually like the stripped down nature of it. You realize just how great the guitar parts are!

Apart from everything I mentioned about Sting's abilities, what always blows me away is how he can play complex bass or guitar parts like this one and sing flawlessly at the same time. Pretty awesome!

I really enjoyed making this video as Fragile has always been one of my favorite songs. I hope that you get something out of it and that it helps you to learn this fantastic song. Cheers
Andy
