Eric Johnson style #1  | lick

This is a Joe Bonamassa/Eric Johnson style fast pentatonic lick. Great lick for blues playing.

This was one of the first videos I made so it's a little rough around the edges, but it's a great lick that Joe Bonamassa uses all the time.

Of course these cascading "groups of five" type licks all started with Eric Johnson.

Some would say that Joe Bonamassa just flat out stole them while others would say that he was influenced by them.

I would fall into the latter category. Guitar players have been stealing each others licks from the start. It's no different than it's ever been.

Eddie Van Halen stole a lot of licks from Eric Clapton who probably stole licks from Albert King and Muddy Waters.

Everybody steals from everybody but in the end they always wind up sounding different, because they're different people! What's the big deal?!

Joe Bonamassa tours the world to sell out shows and sells records for a living, so he must be doing something right!

I hope that you get something from my video. Cheers
Andy
