An acoustic guitar lesson on how to play "Darling" by Halsey and Lindsey Buckingham from their 2021 SNL live performance.
I have to be completely honest, I'd never heard of Halsey until this video came across my screen. It's her live performance of a song called Darling that she did with Lindsey Buckingham on Saturday Night Live recorded October 9/2021. I really enjoyed their performance. I almost felt like it was 1976 again! Her look was very Stevie Nicks and the song could have been on Rumours! Although I like the melody, for me it's the beautiful guitar part that makes the song. LB has a distinct style and a special touch to his finger picking that brings a lot of magic. The trick to playing this is getting the right tuning. It's in open G. It's then capoed on the 5th fret. There are only 2 sections to learn, but getting it smooth will take a bit of practice. I hope you enjoy the lesson and that it helps you to play this great finger picking song. Cheers, Andy. |
